Guiliani: This Man Needs No Script to Make His Point

Rudy Guiliani dazzled me today, where he spoke in front of a friendly crowd of 100-200 people in the townhall. Rudy's presentation was extemporaneous, answering questions from the audience. He was poised, engaging and witty. I have always liked his policy positions, but to see him in person convinced me of his sincerity in a way that television doesn't capture. It is an excellent example of the importance of the New Hampshire primary to deliver an "up-close-and-personal" primary.

The power of the presentation was not just that Rudy's positions are well thought out, it was that they seemed to flow naturally from deep personal conviction and experience. Unlike Romney, the discussion had absolutely no "scripted" feel. The man radiated the power of his beliefs and utterly convinced me he has the courage and toughness to make them stick in Washington.

I was very surprised and pleased at how well he could explain our core Republican beliefs in the power of free markets to raise people out of poverty, limited government that emphasized safety, and the need for our schools to be out of the shackles of a gov't monopoly.

This ability to simply and clearly explain why we are the party of hope reminded me of the communication skills of Reagan. Rudy is now my candidate*.
