Obamarama

Obama's staff called to ask me to drive to Rochester to see the candidate.  They did not tell me about the Exeter (my home town) round table and said Portsmouth was booked.  It was snowing.  I went to Portsmouth.

I took my son, 21.  The line was long, it was cold, the doors didn't open 'til 5pm, they started by checking everyone in by name -- we endured.  We are hearty New Englanders.

Barak was introduced by 2 female NH pols, and entered looking crisp and ... he was sharp.  (I don't know how they do it.  Rochester was at 7.)  He spoke for 45 minutes, took some questions and was well received.  A pod of us were undecided but it felt like most were cemented in his camp.  Barak is great with a mic, charismatic, great sense of humor.  Said a lot of good and , I think, obvious stuff re:" change."  He seems to talk until he gets an enthusiastic reaction, so he repeated himself a lot.  He is balck and young and bright which = change in itself.  Maybe just the guy we need in our "dialogue" with the Islamic World.  I learned that he has taught Constitutional Law, which means this time maybe it will be remembered.  A true breath of fresh air.  He makes this a very hard decision.  (I've never seen lines like this for candidates.  Makes me think America is still here.)  We have good choices.
