And My Vote Went To.....
I didn't know for sure until I went into the voter's booth.
It's a picture-perfect April day here in Exeter, despite the fact that it's Primary Day. There are obvious signs: the whole town is out and about (the weather helps with that one), there are more well-dressed visitors than usual, plus famous visitors such as Bill Clinton and John Edwards's parents. Since last spring, I've had probably hundreds of phone calls, and been courted by campaign staff eager to talk about the issues and the candidates. I've been to talks given by: Joe Biden, Bill Richardson, John Edwards, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. And I finally made up my mind.
Until I walked into the booth, I was still unsure. Hillary Clinton has done good things as a senator, and I think a woman president will change the world. Barak Obama's words inspire me as no politician's or social activist's have in my lifetime, and an African-American president will also change the world. Bill Richardson's resume makes him the exceptional candidate.
I voted for Barack Obama. I voted for the future, for the change that's in the air. For the hope that he can and will change the world. Because we desperately need him.
