What happened to the pollsters?
Today a friend and I headed to the Green Bean, assuming that all the campaign buses and news trucks were gone. Not so. We walked in, ordered our food, and turned to see David Muir of ABC News in a corner interviewing people about yesterday's election. As we ate, David and his sound and camera guys circulated around the restaurant. At one point the sound guy was leaning over our table to catch the conversation of someone next to us. David Muir tried to squeeze behind my friend's chair which prompted me to ask, "Are we in your way?" He stopped and chatted with us for a few minutes off camera. I asked him why he was still here. He explained that he was at Logan airport this morning, headed home, when his boss called and told him to get back to NH to find out why the pollsters had been so wrong about the Obama-Clinton race. So he was asking around the Green Bean to see if he could get an answer. (I'm not sure if he did.) The story, if they run it, should be this evening on ABC World News Tonight (or maybe tomorrow morning on Good Morning America). Then perhaps it will be finally, truly, over.
